Orthopedic Correction
Face Mask Therapy is a treatment mainly used for growing children who have an underdeveloped upper jaw (called maxillary deficiency) and an overdeveloped lower jaw (called mandibular excess). The face mask helps in forward and downward traction of the upper jaw and backward movement of the lower jaw. This gentle force helps to stimulate the growth of the upper jaw (maxilla) and helps in growth control of the lower jaw (mandible).
Designed to control excessive growth of the upper jaw so that it prevents gummy smile. It is commonly used in children with Class II malocclusion to guide jaw development and improve bite alignment.
Myofunctional Correction
A removable functional appliance consisting of upper and lower bite blocks. It encourages forward growth of the lower jaw and backward growth of the upper jaw in children with Class II malocclusion, improving jaw relationship and profile..
Expansion Appliances
A fixed appliance that applies strong forces to quickly widen the upper jaw by separating the mid-palatal suture. It is usually done in growing patients to correct crossbites and create space for crowded teeth.
A removable palatal expander is a removable orthodontic appliance designed for slow maxilliary expansion (SME) similar to RME but applies lighter, gradual forces over a longer period. It widens the upper arch with better tissue adaptation and less discomfort.
